Andiamo Dance Company is a contemporary dance company located in Ketchikan, AK. Andiamo was founded by Executive Director, Jess Berto, in 2019 as a way to create opportunities for artistic inquiry and growth for established dance professionals through performance, choreography, and teaching. Andiamo serves to enrich the lives of dance artists and the community of Ketchikan by making high quality dance accessible to the entire community.
Since its founding Andiamo has staged three full length productions on the Kayhi stage with works by Jess Berto and Elizabeth Schultz, as well as films by Jeanette Sweetman and Christina Hughes. Andiamo has performed throughout the community for events such as; The Enchanted Forest Holiday Gala for PeaceHealth Medical Center, Ketchikan Theatre Ballet’s ‘An Evening of Dance,’ First City Players’ ‘Ward Lake Theatre Walk,’ The Blueberry Festival, Gigglefeet and ‘A Live Experience Series’ with the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council. Where dance of this caliber was not always easily accessible on this island, Andiamo hopes to continue to fill that gap and to continue to explore ways to connect with and be involved in the community of Ketchikan.
