Special Saturday Museum Midday: Cruisin' Alaska's Fossil Coastline
Ketchikan Museums in Partnership with USDA Forest Service Southeast Alaska Discovery Center will present a special Saturday Museum Midday event!
Saturday, March 4 at the Discovery Center at 2:00 p.m.
Join artist Ray Troll, paleontologist Dr. Pat Druckenmiller, and geologist Jim Baichtal for a fascinating presentation on Alaska’s rich prehistoric past, ranging from polar dinosaurs, giant marine reptiles, palm filled forests, to tiny trilobites and much more. Pat, Jim, and Ray have been on numerous fossil forays over the last few decades, making exciting discoveries along the way. The three will share photos and stories from their various paleo-adventures.
This talk coincides with the opening of the Cruisin’ the Fossil Coastline exhibit at the Tongass Historical Museum, which opens on March 3, 2022, and runs through January of 2024.
