Animals Art Competition

We are pleased to announce our third Animals online Art Competition for the month of April 2025. This call invites artists and photographers to showcase their finest artworks inspired by the world of animals. Submissions may explore a range of interpretations, including representational, abstract, and conceptual approaches. All visual art mediums are allowed.

In addition to the selected artists, the jury will select award winners in the following art categories: painting, photography, sculpture. All selected artists will receive a digital award certificate. An article about each artist will be displayed alongside the best of show and three winners. The best of show will be displayed on the poster of the exhibition. Judging the artwork will be based on the following criteria: creativity, originality and quality of art, overall design, demonstration of artistic ability, and usage of medium. The jury will not consider artworks with pornographic or satanic content. Entry fees are $20 for two pieces of artwork. You may submit more than two images; there is no limit to the number of images an artist may submit. The application deadline is March 26, 2025.

WINTER 2025 OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS — Innovate Grant is thrilled to introduce our newly increased award amounts of $1,800.00.

Innovate Grant awards (2) $1,800.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. In addition, (12) honorable mentions (6 in art and 6 in photo), will be featured on our website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists. Innovate Grant's commitment extends beyond the grant cycle by promoting the work of selected winners and honorable mentions into the future.

Innovate Grant supports artists and photographers through quarterly grants. We've simplified the grant process, so that artists and photographers can focus on making their innovative work. The work should speak for itself and our application reflects that.

Each week at approximately 8:20 am KRBD hosts the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council for their weekly report on arts and humanities in Ketchikan and the surrounding area. Get a synopsis of the local music scene, performances, Gallery exhibits, pop-ups, and Calls to artists. The Arts Report often features special guests from the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet, Artists, and Curators. Tune in weekly to KRBD 105.3 FM Ketchikan, Metlakatla and Saxman, 107.1 FM North Ketchikan, Ward Cove, and Ketchikan, 101.7: Craig, 90.7: North Point Higgins, 90.1: Mountain Point, Hydaburg, Klawock, and Thorne Bay.

Call to Artist - Alaska Hummingbird Festival 2025 Submission Deadline

Artwork must include birds, avian habitat and/or migratory bird patterns from the
list provided on the back page.
➢ Artwork must be recent, original, and not previously exhibited in Ketchikan,
Alaska. Open to all Alaskan artists working in all media with a maximum of two
entries per artist. Label each piece with“item 1” and“item 2” to correspond with
each entry form.
➢ All two-dimensional entries must be framed and ready to hang (hardware, wire
etc.) All three-dimensional entries must be ready for display. Note on entry form
if you include stands or props with your piece.
➢ Mailed entries must include return postage.
