Aloha Ketchikan! Has the cold, wet, gray winter lasted too long for you? Turn up the heat and add bright color to your night with some hip-shaking hula! See traditional hula of the islands and fast-moving Tahitian dances! Dancing, drumming, and visual splendor! See gorgeous costumes complete with towering headdresses and colorful skirts, both kane and wahini dancers (male and female), a wide array of dances showcasing Hawaii’s rich heritage and traditions, and a chance for the audience to join in the fun! Hula tells the story of Hawaii’s people- we get the chance to see and experience the arts of a tropical moku (island) here on our own!
YouKnowYouWannaHula! Learn to move to the island rhythms and dance the hula! On Wednesday, March 30th, 7pm, we’ll have a hula class at the Main Street Gallery so you can learn one of the world’s most sensual dances. We’ll have you loosened up and shaking your hips- Wikiwiki, a`ole pilikia! $5 at the door. All ages welcome.
Latenight Luau! Bust out those hawaiian shirts, coconut bras and grass skirts- the fun doesn’t end with the show- head to the tropics for a Luau after party following the performance!
