Art Lives Here
Ketchikan is an ART town. Clusters of artists have come together, encouraged each other, and produced art in Ketchikan since its early days. Art Lives Here Invitational Exhibition is a comprehensive look at some of the artists and fine craftspeople living and working in Ketchikan in 2011.
Victoria Lord, guest curator, has invited Ketchikan artists whose work represents a variety of genres and mediums. Inspired by the unique island lifestyle and community these artists represent just a snapshot of the creative energy, activity and artwork that make Ketchikan a nationally recognized and locally valued ART town.
The Ketchikan Gateway Borough has proclaimed 2011 the Year of the Artist in honor of the contribution of local artists to community life, education, and the economy. Art Lives Here Invitational Exhibition celebrates the visual, literary, and performing artists that make Ketchikan their home.
Join us for the opening reception for “Art Lives Here Invitational Exhibition” on Friday, July 1, 5-7pm. Free, all are welcome!
