The Arts Council and KRBD invite you to a rockabilly riot of a Halloween Bash! Live music by Angie and the Car Wrecks, dancing, costume and dance contests (prizes!!!), no-host bar, refreshments, and a DJ playing on into the night… Angie and the Car Wrecks are rockabilly bordering on psychobilly, a little like the soundtrack if Elvis starred in a zombie movie-we know you’ll be on the dance floor getting your boogie on.
“Stationed in the (second) wettest circle of he**, a rockabilly band has surfaced. WA is where we reside, but in the style of the older, finer things is where we really live. We are trying to bring back the raw style of rockabilly: blazing guitar and strong upright bass. We also dabble in old-school country.”
The Car Wrecks’ main influences are the pioneers of classic rockabilly music, most of them featured on the Sun label in the 1950’s: Carl Perkins, Billy Lee Riley, Elvis, and of course Johnny Cash. Other influences include Hank Williams Sr., Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, and more recently, the Chop Tops and the Reverend Horton Heat. Together they bring you an exciting blend of country, rockabilly, psychobilly and surf music and they look darn good doing it! (Almost as good as you in your spookiest!)
And BIG HUGE THANK YOU’S TO:
