99 Nails for Earth Day!

Start:
April 24, 2011
Venue:
Bugge's Beach
Address:
Ketchikan, AK, United States, 99901

We all use Rotary (Bugge’s) Beach, it’s one of the most beautiful sites in Ketchikan! Please join your friends and neighbors for Earth Day to help keep it beautiful and keep all those little bare feet safe this summer by picking up 99 Nails. Bring gloves, a bag if you wish, and buckets will be put out for dropping your collection. All nails will be  recycled with scrap metal. AND we’re told anyone who comes gets a roasted marshmallow!

Join in 99 Nails for Earth Day on Saturday, April 24 at Rotary Beach from 10am to Noon. (Buckets will stay out later into the afternoon so you can keep picking up later into the day). Thanks to all who lend a hand!

It was terrific to see all the mothers and little children picking nails, playing or overseeing the activity. I couldn’t count how many nails I picked up. Hey folks, when you burn boards with nails, the nails remain as hazards to beach users.
